The Scottish Leaders Forum is a network of leaders at the heart of public services in Scotland. The network meets to discuss and collaborate on policy issues.

The Scottish Leaders Forum meets in plenary once a year. Past events have included discussions on the themes of participatory democracy, early years, supporting resilient communities, sustainable economic growth and tackling youth unemployment.

A number of Forum members met on December 4, 2015 to plan the next plenary event, which will take place in February 2016.

Flourishing Scotland

The last Scottish Leaders Forum plenary was held on November 27 – 28, 2014. The event, entitled, ‘Flourishing Scotland’, was designed in conjunction with the Institute of Design Innovation at the Glasgow School of Art.

Delegates heard from speakers on democracy, leadership, and engagement and motivation. They also heard from communities across Scotland via a series of videos and art projects. SLF members also contributed insights from their own work.

Delegates discussed the three ‘big challenges’ facing Scotland: equality, the economy, and our public services. They also discussed actions which could be taken to address these, using creative leadership and encouraging participation from people across Scotland.
